Coast to Coast
The 'Contoured Coasters' collection began in The Lake District but has since expanded to feature areas of Scotland, Wales, the Peak District, the coast, and also includes sets of the National Three Peaks & The Yorkshire Three Peaks.
This Coast to Coast set features a star icon to mark the start and end points (St Bees and Robin Hood's Bay) of the popular long distance walk devised by Alfred Wainwright in the 1970s. They would make a great gift for those that love walking, especially those that have completed the Coast to Coast route.
There are two designs in the Coast to Coast range, both of which can be seen in the photos:
• St Bees
• Robin Hood's Bay
Each Contoured Coaster design starts on the computer where I digitally recreate all the 50m contours, popular summits, any lakes, reservoirs or tarns, roads and place names. They are then laser etched and cut from oak veneered plywood, sealed with Danish oil, inset with blue tinted acrylic in place of water and finished with bright orange felt to protect your coffee table. They are highly accurate to a scale of 1:25000; although it's perhaps best not to use them to go walking!
Coasters are available to buy individually, or as a set of two.
These Coast to Coast maps are also available as a piece of art that can be found in the 'Map Art' section of the shop.
I often make coasters to order so please expect 3-5 business days before they are ready to be posted out to you. Time of delivery from that point depends on your location and postal service. If you require your coasters by a certain date just drop me a message and I'll try my best to make it happen.
